Chip earned his Winners Ribbons at the CFA show in Richmond, Va. on Jan. 8 and is now a CFA Champion. Next up for him is another CFA show in Roanoke, Virginia where he will try to earn points toward his Grand Champion title. It’s going to be a tough job-the Maine Coon classes are full of exceptional cats-and competition is fierce(but friendly) for those points. Check back to this page for updates on his quest. Chip will also go to his first TICA show in Raleigh, NC on Feb. 19. TICA shows are a lot of fun and we look forward to seeing how he’ll compare with the TICA cats.

In the Beginning...

Chip’s first show... and his first Final was in August at Simpsonville, S.C. Chip’s the first kitten we’ve shown to make a Final the first time out-we were so proud of him. He was named 9th Best All Breed Kitten...out of 60 plus kittens-in Judge David Mare’s ring.

           National Capital Cat Show-
          Chantilly, Va. Sept. 11/12, 2010

The National Capital Cat Show is a huge show-450 entries; 149 of those entries were kittens; 25 of those were Maine Coons. Total Maine Coon entries outnumbered the Persian entries for this show, which is quite a feat!
The MC kitten class was spectacular-well bred, immaculately groomed kittens in colors as varied as a rainbow. Chip had all he could handle just pulling out 3 wins in his color class! He did his best in Ellen Honey’s ring, where she placed him as her 4th Best Maine Coon kitten. He was certainly more relaxed at this show, so we were very pleased with outcome-even tho he didn’t get to bring home a beautiful rosette this time.

Judge Donna Jean Thompson with Chip-checking the shape and breadth of his muzzle, the shape of his eyes and the curvature of his nose; and you thought beauty pageants were only tough on young ladies!

Chip paying serious attention to everything Judge Wayne Trevethan is saying. Why can’t we get Chip to do that at home???

How to climb the pole and charm the judge...
first, study the feather intently, then stretch up the pole ever so slowly..the kicker?...look backward over your shoulder and wink at the judge!
